Use a Presentation Clicker to take photos
Note: The feature described below requires RightBooth version 7.17.8 or later.
This article explains how to use a standard wireless presentation clicker to take photos in RightBooth.
Presentation clickers are designed to work wirelessly and one of their features is to send Page Up and Page Down keyboard input into Windows. You can then design an event that responds to one of these key presses to allow you to use the clicker to capture photos. For suitable clicker devices, search Amazon for Presentation clicker |
Designing your event
- In the Event designer -> Event structure -> Start, tick Include the Start screen
- In Event structure -> Take photos, reduce the Photo capture delay to 1 (0.01 seconds)
- In Event structure -> Show/Redo, optionally include to Show Photos
- Exclude all the other event screens, such as Get ready, Countdown and Thank you
- In Screen designer -> Take photo, set the Screen Timeout value to 0.25 seconds
- Also, (optionally) turn off the Take photo screen audio Camera sound
Now in Settings -> User input, set the user input device to Single keyboard key and choose the key Next from the dropdown list. This is equivalent to the Page Down key or the Scroll down key mentioned with some presentation clickers...
Play the event and you can now capture photos using the presentation clicker.
