Altering The Maximum Video Recording Time With The Count Down Item

When you create a new event, the maximum video recording time is initially set to 20 seconds. This value is to be found in the Event type section of the Event Designer and can be changed as required.

If you are adding questions into your event that require video answers, this value is also used as the initial maximum recording time for each new question.

Altering the Video Recording Time with the Count Down Item

If you visit the Record Video screen in the Screen Editor, you will see that the countdown item is shown counting down from the default value of 20 seconds.  You can alter this as follows:

• Click on the animating Countdown item to select it.
• On the Toolbox, click Properties to show the Countdown Properties Toolbox
• Alter the starting value of the countdown, in the screen shot opposite we have changed this to 40 seconds.

Note: If you alter this countdown value on the Record video screen, the change will also appear in the Event Type section mentioned previously.

Altering the Recording Time For Individual Video Answers

It is important to understand that changing the Maximum recording video time (mentioned above) will only change the recording time of RightBooth's standard video recording feature.  Changing this value does NOT affect the maximum recording time of any video answers included in your event.

If you need to modify the maximum recording time of a video answer, do the following:

• In the Screen Editor, choose the Answer screen from the screen list
• Use the Answer Up/Dow on the main Toolbox to show the video answer screen that requires a different recording time
• Follow the steps above to alter the Countdown item to the required maximum video recording time.

In summary:

• the video recording screen and the video answer screens each maintain their own independent maximum video recording times
• use the countdown edit method described in this article to alter any of the maximum recording times for your event videos  or video answers.
