Ensuring Event Screens Fill The Computer Display

The following issue has been reported by some RightBooth users.

They say that their event screen doesn't completely fill the computer display and they see a band of blue along the top and bottom of the display like this...

In the example screenshot image we are showing event screen properties toolbox. Notice that the event screen size is set to W = 1366 pixels and H = 720 pixels.

If we now look at the Windows display properties for the computer on which this image was captured we find that the computer display resolution is set at 1366 x 768 pixels...

So in our example the event screen size is different to the computer display size, which means that the RightBooth event screens are not quite as high as the computer display.
Therefore RightBooth is centralsing the event screens on the computer display, and causing the colour bands to be shown top and bottom.

The solution to this problem is quite easy. Return to editing the RightBooth event screen and alter the screen Height property from 720 to 768. The event screen will now completely fill the computer display.

You may need to make this change on all the screens in the event. The simplest way to do this (once you have made this change on one event screen) is to use the Formatter tool to apply the 'Same screen size' to all the other screens in your event as shown in this screenshot...

Why does this happen?

This issue can occur for any combination of the following reasons:

The main cause of this issue is a change in the Windows Taskbar visibility status. If your Taskbar is set to be permanently showing when you create an event in RightBooth, RightBooth will size all the event screens to fit perfectly into the area of the computer display that is above the Taskbar. Then at a later date if you change the Taskbar settings to make the Taskbar hidden, the RightBooth event screens will be the wrong size for the overall display area. Note: The same thing can happen in reverse.
Since creating your event, you have altered the computer display resolution to a different aspect ratio. For example, you create your event at display resolution 1920 x 1080 and then subsequently change the display resolution to 1024 x 768.
You have copied a RightBooth event created on a first computer to a second computer and the second computer has a different Task bar visibility status, or has a different display aspect ratio to the first computer.
You have manually altered the Width and Height of your event screens to values that do not match the computer display aspect ratio,

Let Users Skip The Email Feature

Starting from RightBooth version 6.2.19, you can now allow your users to skip the Emailing feature. Emailing screens are included in your event if you have set it up to email user videos or photos.

Prior to version 6.2.19, during an event, if the 'Email Address' screen appeared, the user was forced into entering an email address and then their photos were emailed. But what if a user is presented with the Email address screen and they decide they don't want to use this feature?

Well now it is possible to add a Skip button to the Email address screen which will let the user bypass the emailing screen and move on with the event flow.

To do this:

In the Screen Editor, choose the 'Email address' screen
Click the Add items check box to show the 'Add Items' toolbox.
Click 'Button' to add a new button to the screen
Click the 'Properties' check box to show the button properties.
In the Action section, choose the action 'Skip'

Your users now have a 'get out of emailing' option !
