Design An Interactive Seat Locator

24/10/2020

This video tutorial shows how to use RightBooth to design and present an interactive map or plan that will allow users to locate items on the plan.

Typical uses include locating:
  • guest's seats at a wedding reception
  • company stands at an exhibition
  • shops in a shopping mall
  • places of interest in a city centre

IMPORTANT Update:  27/10/20
I forgot to mention this important point in the video.
Please ensure that you untick the following option:
RightBooth Event Designer --> Event type --> Interruptible...
Picture
If this option is not ticked then the user can interact with any items on the information event screens that have click actions assigned to them. This will allow the seating plan interactivity to work as shown in the video.

If this option is ticked, then any user input into the event on any screen will cause RightBooth to interrupt the information event and start playing the event that is specified in the Event flow section of the Event Designer.

Very interesting video. (Like the voice idea. Very handy for large guests lists)

Which is my "question". Can you set up 'intermediate' pages? You only set up 6 text guests. What about 60 guests? Could it be set up to show (say) 5 guests from the Smith family, a next button, 5 guests from the Jones' family and so on?

Hi Chris,

Yes you can set up intermediary screens.

For example, you could have just the Family names on the Start screen. Each Family name label could link to a specific family screen which then contained the family member name labels, each of which would then link to their specific seat plan locator screen. Also, each Family name screen could have a 'Next...' label which could have a 'Show screen' action to link to the next family screen in the event, allowing users to easily cycle through all the Family name screens.

The point here is that by working with an 'Information' event RightBooth offers total flexibility in how you link your screens together using navigable 'Show screen' click actions and screen timeout values.
