Every webcam item in your event has the Flip X property turned on by default. This causes the webcam video to be shown mirrored on-screen in order to allow users to position themselves correctly in front of the camera lens.
One downside to this property is that all overlay images and logos that are included on the webcam item are also shown mirrored on-screen. This will cause any text within the images to be shown back to front, but the text will be saved the correct way round in video recordings (and photo captures). But what if you want to show your overlay images and logo the correct way round on-screen? Here are two ways to achieve this. Method 1 The easiest way to show overlays the correct way round is to simply turn off the webcam item Flip X property in the Screen Editor. You will need to do this on each webcam item on each screen in the event. Advantages: Overlay images and logos are shown the correct way round. Videos and photo files are recorded without mirroring applied. Disadvantages: The video feed is shown on-screen without mirroring. Method 2 (available in version 5.3.9 or later) In RightBoth Video settings, tick the setting: Mirror X. This causes the video feed to be flipped in the X direction directly from the webcam source. Next turn off the webcam Flip X property in the Screen Editor. Again you will need to do this on all webcam items in the event. Advantages: Overlay images and logos are shown the correct way round. On-screen video mirroring is also achieved. Disadvantages: Videos and photo files are recorded with mirroring applied.
